There's only one advanced technique that you can get into right now. The others are very, very expensive and time consuming. These are things like infomercials, telemarketing and direct marketing campaigns. Just hold on to those ideas for when you're making a TON of money and want to make a TON more!

The one advanced technique you can do right now is to start doing joint ventures.

A joint venture is merely an agreement between 2 or more businesses to jointly produce or market a product or service. The simplest joint venture is one where another person has the exclusive rights to be your affiliate. The profits are generally split between the parties in percentages that reflect how much each party puts into the venture.

Honestly, to get a person who has a big responsive list...who can sell a LOT of those dachshund grooming books of yours...will probably take 60% of the profit or more! The fact is that you'll need to do several deals like this before you've built up a list of buyers that you've developed a relationship with...the freebie thing...the good content thing.

You can also set up joint ventures where you supply the book and someone else supplies a video on the subject...or an audio product...or a CD product...or another book that integrates with yours well.

The secret to setting up joint ventures with people who can really help you sell more is to get in personal contact. Emails just don't get it! At the very least, physically write them a letter and a proposal and UPS it to them or priority mail it to them. Then follow that up with a personal phone call. Let them get to know you and don't be disappointed if they either say no outright or don't answer you at all.

If you are diligent at this, you can hook up with a large list owner. It will take some patience, but it's well worth it!

I wouldn't try doing this until you have some concrete figures you can give your potential joint venture partners. Figures like sales conversion and visitor values. And tools like email series, reports and articles...some of the same tools you've developed for yourself.

The best thing to do for your business is to use techniques and strategies that have proven to work for the majority of people over the long-term. Don't think about them too much, don't study them to death...apply them and then test to see if they're working for you.
